Gliders Kids Program for Toddlers 11-18 Months – Jumpstart Gym
Something is happening. The pulling up. The cruising along furniture. The one-handed let-go that lasts exactly half a second before the sit-down. Your child is at the most dramatic physical inflection point of their entire life — the transition from floor creature to upright human — and they are doing it with complete, fearless commitment.
The Gliders program is built for this exact window. Classes are structured around emerging mobility: standing balance, weight shifting, early walking patterns, and the controlled falling that actually teaches the body how to fall safely. Every piece of equipment your child encounters has been chosen because it matches what their body is developmentally ready to explore.
Parents stay involved throughout — this age group needs you close, not as safety net, but as the emotional anchor that makes bold exploration feel possible. You'll learn handling techniques that support rather than override your child's natural movement instincts.
Twelve months from now, your Glider will be a Squirrel. Right now, they're learning to fly.
The stage
Crawling. Cruising. Those first wild, wonderful steps. Your child has discovered independent movement and wants more of it — more speed, more height, more everything. At home, that's a safety problem. At Jumpstart, it's the whole point. Gliders is a padded world built for exactly this stage: low climbs, soft slopes, wide beams, and a coach who knows what a 14-month-old body is ready for.

01
Tummy Time Adventures
Your little one will love exploring our soft tunnels, wedges and low ramps during tummy time. These playful setups make lifting their head and pushing up on their arms feel fun and rewarding.
02
See, Track & Reach
Watch your little one excitedly explore new ways to track toys, faces and lights around the room. Each activity gently encourages them to reach, grab and bring objects closer with purpose.
03
Rock & Balance Play
Watch your little one wobble and grow as they practice gentle rocking, bouncing and spinning. These movements help their inner balance system develop so they feel more confident in motion.
04
Hold On & Explore
Each little one will practice holding onto low bars, rails and soft edges as they explore. This gives them a safe way to test their balance, shift their weight and learn where their body is in space.
05
Core Strength in Motion
Your little one will love exploring through play that gets them rolling, reaching and twisting. All this movement wakes up their core muscles and builds the strength they’ll use for crawling and walking.
06
Music, Rhythm & Connection
Your little one will love joining in with our music, rhymes and simple group games. These shared moments help them tune into rhythm, connect with others and feel part of the class community.
What’s building underneath
Every new surface your child conquers recalibrates their balance system. Every climb teaches risk judgement at the only age where falling costs nothing — onto padding, from low heights, with you right there. This is where physical confidence is either built or delayed. Children who learn now that their body can be trusted carry that trust into every playground, every sport, every classroom that follows.
By the time they move up to Squirrels, most Gliders can
01
Walk and run with confidence across different surfaces
02
Climb up and down low obstacles independently
03
Balance briefly on a low beam
04
Hang from a bar with assistance
05
Follow a simple one-step instruction in a group setting
